Quick answers for parents

Frequently asked questions

The short version: choose a child, use the recommended path, and teach the next unfinished day. Everything else can wait.

What is Christian Classical Homeschool?

It is a parent companion for Preschool / Pre-K through Grade 6 daily lessons, preparation, printables, and simple records. Grade 6 is a Logic Stage family-test preview; the app has a complete authored map, not established household outcomes. Grades 7–12 use planning and records with the family’s own curriculum.

How do I begin?

Choose Set up in 3 steps, add your child, accept the recommended built-in path, and begin Day 1. You do not need to install the app, create an account, test printing, or configure backups before teaching the first lesson.

How long does a day take?

Typical complete-day estimates are about 25–40 minutes for Preschool, 65–95 for Kindergarten, 85–120 for Grade 1, 110–140 for Grade 2, 92–112 for Grade 3, and approximately 100–125 for Grade 4 (currently in family-test preview). Children and families vary. Short Day keeps the most important work when attention, health, appointments, or family life require less.

What happens if we miss a day or begin midweek?

The next unfinished teaching day remains next. Beginning on Wednesday does not skip Days 2 and 3, and a missed calendar day does not make the child behind.

Can my child use it independently?

CCH is intentionally parent-led, especially in the early years. It is not a child-entertainment app and has no child login, streaks, advertisements, or reward loops. Some older work may become independent as the child is ready, but the app’s primary user is the parent.

Do I need to buy a curriculum package or print everything?

No boxed package is required for the built-in Preschool through Grade 6 courses. Lessons use a family Bible, ordinary books and household supplies, notebooks, and optional printables. Each day names what to gather.

Do lesson checkmarks mean mastery?

No. Completion records that a lesson was taught. Optional evidence records Independent today, With prompting, or Not yet. “Secure over time” is separate and should be used only after consistent evidence.

Where are our records stored?

Records stay in the current browser by default. Parents may download a backup or create a parent account for optional cloud sync across devices. Children do not create accounts, and cloud sync is not required.

Are there ads, trackers, notifications, or subscriptions?

There are no advertisements, targeted-advertising trackers, child notifications, streaks, or autoplay engagement systems. The app is currently free during family testing, and no paid plan is currently offered.

How are doctrinal differences handled?

Lessons distinguish Scripture from inference, interpretation, history, and family choice. Scripture references are provided so parents can read the passage directly. On disputed questions, the parent remains responsible for teaching the family’s convictions rather than treating the app as ecclesiastical authority.

What is still being tested?

The daily courses are authored and automated checks cover their structure and sequence. Real-family evidence is deepest in Kindergarten and still limited for Grade 2 and Grade 3 pacing and clarity, and Grade 4 through Grade 6 family testing. CCH states that openly because completed software is not the same thing as proven learning outcomes.
