Christian Classical Homeschool was created by Kurt Doughty, a father of four, nondenominational Christian preacher, and retired United States Marine. His final Marine Corps duty station was Marine Helicopter Squadron One—HMX-1, the Presidential Helicopter Squadron. He also studied electrical and robotics engineering at Indiana State University.

Kurt first built this companion for his own family. He wanted something that would help a parent sit down, open the Bible or lesson, and confidently teach the next day without turning the home into an institution or the parent into a record-keeping clerk.

Who writes and checks the lessons

Kurt is the principal author and maintainer of the built-in curriculum. Lessons are checked with automated coverage and phonics-sequence tests, Scripture and source audits, and independent code and content reviews. These safeguards are meant to expose mistakes rather than make the work sound infallible. They are not accreditation, and they do not replace a parent's judgment or direct reading of Scripture and sources.

What guides the curriculum

Scripture is treated as the final authority. Facts are distinguished from inference, interpretation, tradition, and preference. Children should inherit knowledge, worthy stories, and a grateful love for their home and country. Heroes may be admired honestly without turning legends into historical facts or replacing gratitude with cynicism.

Kurt and his wife have been married for more than seventeen years and are raising four children. Christian Classical Homeschool remains an independent, parent-built project. It is not an official publication of a congregation, school, denomination, the United States Marine Corps, HMX-1, or Indiana State University.

What is built now

• Preschool / Pre-K: a complete 36-week gentle course with written-out parent guidance for four short daily blocks and an optional fifth-day family review.
• Kindergarten: a complete 36-week, 180-day built-in course.
• Grade 1: a complete 36-week, 180-day built-in course with daily parent guidance across Bible, reading and spelling, grammar and writing, mathematics, rotating knowledge studies, and Latin.

There is no paid plan or subscription at this time. The Parent Companion will remain free throughout the current Kindergarten-completion pilot. If access or pricing changes after that season, families will receive plain notice before any paid plan begins; no family will be charged without choosing it.
